Italian Yarn Enterprises Successfully Develop Special Sewing Thread

More and more yarn germs can be eliminated in the current yarn development enterprises. Recently, an Italian yarn company, manifatura Italiana cucirini Spa (MIC), has developed a special sewing thread for personal protective equipment, especially masks, to deal with germs that pose a threat to human beings.

According to reports, the special sewing thread developed by the company has applied a new treatment method - safe treatment method, which makes the sewing thread suitable for the production of masks, protective clothing, PPE and other medical products, including functional textile fabrics and sportswear.

Safe treatment is to use antibacterial functional finishing agent sanitizer to treat yarn, which can eliminate or inhibit 99% of virus. The biggest bright spot of safe treatment is that it will not change the characteristics and firmness of the treated sewing thread. The safe treated yarn can be washed for more than 20 times and has been tested and approved by International Standards ASTM G21 (antifungal) and JIS l1902 (antibacterial).
