Vietnamese Clothing Has Become The Largest Export Product.
According to the Vietnam investment and planning department, Vietnam's textile and Garment Association Chairman Li Guo en said that Vietnam is now one of the largest exporter of textiles and clothing in the world.
The Vietnamese textile and garment industry absorbed about 2 million labor force, and exported to US $9 billion in 2009. Textile and clothing has become Vietnam's largest export product. Exports are expected to increase by 15% this year, to $20 billion by 2020.
Reported that at present, Vietnam's cotton output can only meet the domestic demand of 1%. Last year Vietnam imported about 300 thousand tons of cotton, and imported 92 thousand tons in the first quarter, an increase of 262% over the same period last year. Cotton is mainly imported from India, Africa and other countries. It is predicted that Vietnam's imports of cotton will reach 1 million tons / year in the next 10 years.
