The New Focus Of Thailand'S Olympic Clothing Highlights National Unity

Tara, CEO of Guanghua Sporting Goods Company, introduced that blue symbolizes the king loved by the people in Thailand. Plus, blue is a mild color, which can reflect the docile and kind nature of Thai people.

Guanghua Company provided two sets of entrance costumes for the Thai Olympic team, one is dark grey hoodie and dark grey trousers, the other is white hoodie and blue trousers. The coat has three special features: first, there is a "woven" pattern of the Thai national flag in the right chest, which is composed of red, blue and white colors.

Second, there is a unique symbol of the Thai Olympic Committee embroidered on the left chest: an elephant, a national treasure with a crown, is above the five rings. The third is the London Olympic Games logo on the left arm. It is still uncertain which team uniform will be worn by Thai players.

"Our adoption of the 'woven fusion model' is intended to highlight the unity of the Thai people as a strong backing for the Olympic team members," Tara said.

It is understood that Guanghua Company invested more than 10 million Thai baht (about 315000 US dollars) to provide hats, sports bags, leisure clothes, award winning clothes, as well as competition clothes for archery, boxing, table tennis, badminton and other nine projects for the Thai team. As a local sports brand with a history of 51 years, this is the second time they have provided clothing for the national Olympic team.

Tara introduced that his father, the founder of the company, was a basketball player, and later served as the director of the Thai Football Association and the vice president of the Thai Volleyball Association.

During the design of the Olympic team uniforms, Tara formed a team of designers from 20 to more than 50 years old to listen to the opinions of athletes and coaches, carefully select clothing fabrics, and through personal design, demonstration, elimination and other links, it took nearly a year to select design drawings and make ready to wear.

Tara said that at the last Olympic Games, many players from other countries exchanged uniforms with Thai players, hoping that this time the Thai team will show its brilliance because of the beautiful uniforms.

However, when the reporter asked him to predict the performance of the Thai team at the London Olympics, Tara was very rational. "I don't want to put too much pressure on the Thai team, but I hope they can play their best and bring back some medals for the people of the motherland."

The Thai Olympic delegation will participate in 15 events of the London Olympic Games, including boxing, track and field, archery, shooting, weightlifting and badminton, among which boxing and weightlifting are the dominant events.
