China Ancient Carpet ExhibitionGansuExhibition

from Gansu The exhibition of Chinese ancient carpet, sponsored by the the Yellow River Cultural Committee of the Collection Association and so on, was opened at the Gansu Academy of painting. More than 100 antique carpets with different styles and good quality have attracted many collectors. Insiders say that the collection of antique carpet has become more and more popular in recent years. As an ancient handicraft, the hand-made carpets are integrated with practicality and artistry, and the value of folk culture is even more than their artistic value.

Similar Ancient carpet Thematic exhibitions are rare in China.

Chinese ancient carpets can be divided into two categories: one is antique carpets (hundreds of years old rugs) with high collection value; the other is antique carpets, and antique carpets are new carpets produced on the basis of antique carpets, and new carpets are made of pure wool and pure silk.

It is understood that over 100 pieces of antiques are on display. Carpet It is collected by Cai Haizhen and Wang Xuancheng, the collector of our province in the past 20 years, with different styles and good quality. It has a long history. It is a red and brown carpet "Lu Yan Tu" produced in Yanjing District in seventeenth Century. It also has a "eight steed map" which was produced in Baotou District of Inner Mongolia in twentieth Century. It is also a valuable priceless nineteenth Century from the "hundred birds to the king" in Xinjiang.

Bao Jianhe, chairman of the Gansu provincial Collection Association, told reporters that such a special exhibition of ancient carpet is rare in China. The ancient rug combines the culture of the northwest minority, the Han culture and the western culture. It reflects the long and splendid ancient Silk Road culture of our province from one aspect.

Ancient rugs have high historical and folk cultural values.

According to the industry, early Chinese ancient blankets are very rare. Most of the existing carpets in the Ming and Qing Dynasties are divided into five categories: Ancient rugs of Xinjiang, ancient rugs of Tibet, ancient rugs of Baotou, ancient rugs of Ningxia, and ancient rugs of Beijing.

Professor Ming Ming, a famous painter and master of Arts and crafts in our province, told reporters that people used to think that the carpet was introduced into China from the West Asia and other places through the silk road. But later, an ancient carpet was unearthed in Hotan, Xinjiang. It proved that as early as 2200, the Hotan carpet had been born. This proves that the carpet is not an imported product, but a genuine Chinese culture.

Professor Jin Ming told reporters that at the end of the eighteenth Century, the carpet of machine textile had already risen in Europe. Nowadays, the carpet made by hand has been few and far between. In ancient times, this kind of carpet made by hand was also mainly used in court or temples. The ordinary people could not afford such a carpet. This hand-made carpet is both practical and artistic. Its function of moisture-proof, cold insulation, warmth retention and so on is practical, and its pattern design combined with various cultural factors makes it somewhat artistic. Professor Chen believes that, in general, the artistic value of ancient blankets is relatively general. What is more worthy of attention is its outstanding historical value and folk culture value.

Manual antique carpets are on the brink of extinction.

Insiders told reporters that China's ancient rugs have long been neglected by the collectors in China. In the South and Central Plains of the Yangtze River, many ancient rugs are not easy to be preserved because of the hot summer weather, humid climate and habits. Only in the cold and dry northwest of China, such as Qinghai, Tibet, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Xinjiang, Ningxia and so on, the ancient rugs have to be handed down from generation to generation. According to archaeological discoveries, the earliest collection of objects in ancient blankets of various museums is the carpet of Eastern Han Dynasty in Xinjiang. From the existing carpets, we can see that the production and weaving patterns and material selection of carpet are closely related to the vicissitudes and progress of history. Because of its exquisite weaving techniques and magnificent designs, it has become a symbol of life and status of rich people.

Today, Professor Jin Ming, who has passed 8 days, told reporters joyfully that he had seen so many well preserved ancient blankets. He was glad that the ancient carpet was not easy to manufacture, and it must be carefully preserved. The ancient blankets were less and less in modern times, and if they were not properly protected, such handicrafts would be wither away.
