Cartire's parent company, Swiss luxury goods giant Richemont, said on Friday that it will work with the famous designer Alber Elbaz to create a joint venture called AZfashion.
Since leaving the French luxury brand Lanvin in 2015, Alber Elbaz has been fading away from people's eyes. This sudden return has attracted many people's attention. But the company, called AZfashion, is still Mystique: neither the Elbaz nor its description is very vague. It is hard to tell whether this new fashion or luxury brand is about to come into being.
According to the statement, AZfashion will be an innovative and dynamic start-up company dedicated to making dreams come true. Elbaz said he was delighted to have the opportunity to work with him to build his dream factory, "to provide solutions for contemporary women".
"I was greatly inspired to hear Alber Elbaz describe his vision of fashion and the project, and I was impressed by his creativity and insight." Johann Rupert, chairman of the group, said: "his talent is very valuable to the group. We are very much looking forward to this cooperation."
Alber Elbaz was born in Morocco in 1961. She emigrated to Israel in 1970. She graduated from the Shenkar College of Engineering and Design School of design in Israel. She was one of the most famous fashion designers in the world. She was once named one of the one hundred most influential people in the world in 2007. She has the rank of French legion of honor Legion.
In 2001, Wang Xiaolan, the head of Taiwan Lianhe Bao, bought Lanvin from L 'Or e Al (L'OREAL) group, and invited Alber Elbaz as art director to revitalize the brand.
Under the leadership of Alber Elbaz, Lanvin succeeded in breaking the trough and turning losses into profits. But sales and profits continued to decline in 2012, which also led to cracks between Alber Elbaz and MS. Wang Xiaolan. In 2015, the two sides finally split up because of disagreement. After the departure of Alber Elbaz, the situation of Lanvin remained unchanged. Last February, Fosun fashion group acquired Lanvin, and appointed Bruno Sialelli, the former design director of Spanish luxury brand Loewe, as the new creative director.
After leaving Lanvin, Alber Elbaz had never found a fixed place, but it did not do nothing. He has successively carried out one-time cooperation with brands such as Fr e d ric Malle, Converse, Le Sportsac and Tod s.
