"Tomorrow" reported on November 26th, government sources said that the third round of government stimulus plans to be announced next week could include a reduction in sales tax and tariffs on basic commodities. Commodities that are expected to reduce taxes, including those applicable to sales tax rates of 0%, 4%, 5%, 10% and 16%, will affect people's lives.

In early 2018, the previous government increased sales revenue and made up for the budget deficit, raised sales tax on 164 kinds of commodities, and abolished subsidies for big cakes.

According to the latest statistics of the Ministry of finance, Jordan's tax revenue was about 3 billion 63 million in the first eight months of this year, a slight increase of 1% over the previous year, an increase of 28 million. Income tax revenue has increased, but the revenue of general sales tax, property transaction tax and international transaction tax of goods and services has declined.

Tax revenue accounts for 64.8% of gross domestic revenue (4 billion 721 million), accounting for 14.6% of GDP, compared with 15.2% in the same period last year.
