The Kampuchea Government Formally Submitted The EBA Report.

The preliminary investigation of the European Union's cancellation of the preferential treatment of Kampuchea's EBA export to Europe was completed in November (2019), and the report was sent to the Ministry of foreign affairs of Kampuchea in November 12th. The Kampuchea government responded to the EU executive committee in December 12th within the time limit.

According to the statement issued by the Ministry of foreign affairs and international cooperation of Cambodia, "although the EU executive committee will decide in February 2020 whether to cancel the preferential tariff treatment of EBA in Kampuchea, the Cambodian government hopes that the EU executive committee will consider the good faith and efforts of the Cambodian government to maintain preferential tariffs on EBA and implement all relevant international conventions. After all, the preferential tariff involves millions of workers and indirectly affects the livelihood of the labor families. "

It is reported that whether the Cambodian government will withdraw the preferential tariff treatment granted to EBA in Kampuchea after the report is submitted will be decided by the 27 member states of the European Commission in February 2020. If the EU executive committee decides to maintain EBA in Kampuchea, everything will return to the plateau. If the EU decides to withdraw EBA from Kampuchea and the European Parliament does not object, the decision will take effect 6 months after the date of revocation.
