India Postpones Implementation Date Of Bale Quality Control Order

Recently, at the request of some textile industries, the Ministry of Textiles of India postponed the implementation date of the cotton bale quality control order, that is, from August 28 to November 27.

The quality control order was initially issued on February 28, and its scope of application includes processed cotton and unprocessed raw cotton. It is required that the moisture content of cotton bales should not exceed 8%. The spinning mill should test at least 5% of cotton bales and limit the garbage content in cotton bales to less than 3%.

Cotton: In the 2023/24 US cotton forecast this month, the beginning inventory increased and the output decreased by 2.5 million bales, leading to export, domestic use
