In Fujian, new industries and new driving forces have developed rapidly, giving birth to more new growth points. Looking at the fundamentals, in the first half of the year, the industrial added value of the province above designated size increased by 7.3% year on year; Industrial investment increased by 18.7% year on year, ranking the fifth in China; The operating revenue of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 6.1% year on year, and the total profit increased by 38.5% year on year.

At present, the global economic growth momentum is weak, the effective domestic demand is insufficient, and the pressure on enterprises to operate is high. Although the economic situation is "fluctuating", it is "still going well". It is different from the previous industrialization that simply pursues scale expansion, promoting new industrialization, and stabilizing the "ballast", which is the theme of high-quality economic development in Fujian.

With the support of AI, the transformation of existing industries from existing industries to excellent ones is taking place repeatedly.

The real chapter can be seen in "One Silk". The world's leading AI lace machine textile fabric detection system was born in Fujian. In the modern textile factory, the Donglong Knitting Workshop "invited" an "AI quality inspector": like a camera, he shuttled back and forth on the running warp knitting machine, achieving an accuracy rate of defect recognition of more than 95%.

This is due to the joint efforts of China Mobile, Huawei and others to tackle key problems, which have solved the pain points of textile enterprises in the province. Since the second half of 2023, Fujian has carried out the digital diagnosis action of "thousands of employees and thousands of enterprises", anchored the high-end and intelligent development direction, so far nearly 3000 diagnostic service enterprises have been established, and more than 100 digital service providers have been newly cultivated.

"One screen" shows thousands of worlds. In June, Omdia, a world-famous scientific and technological research institution, released the latest report "LED unit board product shipment analysis - China", and the powerful giant color won the first place in both shipment area and market share.

The secret of "two materials first" can be seen from its modern intelligent manufacturing workshop: on the newly added 110m small spacing production line, the latest SMT intelligent mounting equipment is arranged in order, from raw material input to finished product output, dozens of processes are completed in a one-stop manner. "At present, the length, precision and efficiency of the production line are at the forefront of the industry," said Zhou Hui, general manager of the powerful giant color manufacturing business group.

Development is always carried out in the face of problems and promoted in solving problems. From the perspective of the vertical axis of the enterprise's own economic development, more "Donglong Knitting" and "powerful color" are focusing on the "trend" of long-term development, improving innovation ability, in order to achieve "efficiency" of transformation and "quality" of development.

Then analyze from the abscissa of the provincial economic development. Fujian develops new quality productivity according to local conditions. Traditional industries promote the optimization and upgrading of new products, new processes, new equipment and new materials. Emerging industries and future industries actively seize the commanding heights of science and technology to build a modern industrial system——

Under the data, a picture of Industry 4.0 is in front of us: in the past six months, Fujian has accelerated the technological transformation of enterprises, organized and implemented 1541 provincial key technological transformation projects, with a total investment of 381 billion yuan. At present, Xiamen and Quanzhou are listed as pilot cities for new technological transformation of manufacturing industry in 2024.

On the track, emerging industries are running with all their strength: the electric ship industry has the capability of independent research, development, design and construction of multiple types of electric ships, standardized operation of "optical storage, charging, inspection and replacement", and investment in the construction of an 8-inch SiC power device chip manufacturing line.

In the pursuit of "new" and "high", Fujian has planted a "hard base": with the implementation of the "wisdom endowing 100 landscapes" action, two batches of 64 typical provincial AI application scenarios have been released. Fujian has also built a 125P "Fujian Big Data Computing Platform", launched a 2000P intelligent computing center project in Fuzhou New Area, and completed the intelligent transformation of 26 square kilometers of intelligent connected vehicle roads.

Fujian has shown resilience and anti risk ability in the twists and turns. A group of data is worth paying attention to: 32 of the 38 major industries in the province have increased their added value year on year; Of the 451 industrial products listed in the statistics, 274 products increased in output.

Behind the two growth lines is the result of Fujian's shift from focusing on "quantity" and "speed" to focusing on "quality" and "efficiency".

More than 80000 rattan iron handicrafts with different styles in the exhibition hall of Fujian Hengfa Home Decoration Co., Ltd., a leading enterprise in Anxi rattan iron craft, often attract tourists to stop. "Every year, about 3000 original products are added, and old products are continuously eliminated. In the first half of the year, the order amount is about 5.18 million dollars, an increase of 23.91% year on year." Huang Qingfa, founder of Hengfa Home, said.

In Anxi, rattan iron technology has leveraged an industry worth more than 28 billion yuan. Wires, pipes, iron plates, iron accessories required for production, and paints used later can be purchased locally. Starting from Anxi, all kinds of rattan iron handicrafts, household products and accessories are sold to more than 60 countries and regions in the world. In recent years, the export volume accounts for about one-third of the transaction volume of similar products in China.

Fujian pays attention to top-level design and system planning, gathers "chains" into "clusters", and constantly enhances the innovation, competitiveness and vitality of industrial development.

After Fujian released the first white paper on key county industrial chains in September 2023, the Opinions of the General Office of the People's Government of Fujian Province on Promoting the High Quality Development of Key County Industrial Chains was issued not long ago to improve the strength, agglomeration level and innovation ability of key county industrial chains.

The "roadmap" is a chain of beads, supporting counties (cities, districts) to develop 1 to 2 key industrial chains, and developing 3 to 4 key industrial chains with obvious industrial foundation advantages. For example, building a modern textile and clothing industry chain, strengthening the integrated circuit industry chain, cultivating the building materials industry chain, and supporting the lithium battery new energy industry chain.

Industrial capacity is not achieved overnight, and it needs time to cultivate. The traditional one relies on the foundation, the emerging one relies on seizing opportunities, and the ability to form clusters requires more concentration.

Drive along Lianhua Avenue in Jinjiang City, passing by the Core Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park, Jinhua Integrated Circuit, Quliang Electronics and other enterprises. Not far away, the Core Huali Project of Jinjiang Integrated Circuit Science Park is under construction.

In 7 years, Jinjiang has settled more than 50 integrated circuit industrial chain projects with a total investment of more than 100 billion yuan.

In addition to the titles of "Zipper City of China" and "Jacket City of the World", Jinjiang is also moving towards the goal of "reaching 100 billion scale of integrated circuit industry by 2025". "At present, Jinjiang integrated circuit industry has formed an industrial ecology covering the whole industrial chain of integrated circuit design - manufacturing - seal testing - equipment materials - service supporting - terminal application," said Huang Xiaoqin, investment manager of Fujian Jinjiang Semiconductor Park Management Committee.

The change of Jinjiang also reflects the change of Fujian's industrial clusters.

The transformation from "unipolar" to "diversified" and the expansion of "county" to "region" have stimulated the leap forward fission of industrial transformation. Fujian bucked the trend and outlined the "upward line" of development: in the first half of the year alone, there were seven clusters with revenue exceeding 100 billion yuan in Fujian.

From low level to high level, from "single handedness" to scale effect, agglomeration effect and synergy effect, Fujian seeks "quality" from "new", and green has gradually become the bright background of high-quality development.

Taking the iron and steel industry, one of the sources of industrial emissions, as an example, China's iron and steel industry has a tight time for low-carbon transformation and heavy tasks. At present, China's iron and steel industry is also facing new challenges such as the expansion of the national carbon market, the EU's carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM) and other new situations.

How should industry enterprises actively respond? Represented by Sanbao Group, Fujian enterprises have found more answers.

Entering the plant area of Zhangzhou Sanbao Group, the trees are verdant and the grass is green. The "garden style" steel-making plant subverts the stereotype of the public: no smoke, no noise, no odor. The fully automatic production line in the plant is flowing with molten iron with a high temperature of more than 1300 degrees Celsius. The hot billet from the heating furnace is rolled into ultra-thin coils by automatic coiler after multiple rolling such as rough rolling and finish rolling.

In the process of "one plus one minus", Sanbao Group moves forward by "green".

"Plus" is benefit. "Since the 1780mm corrosion-resistant hot-rolled special steel coil production line was put into production at the end of last year, the supply of products has exceeded the demand." Wu Changxi, deputy general manager of Sanbao Group, said that the emergence of "1780mm" has filled the gap in the province's efficient and short process wide and thick special steel coil production line, which is suitable for including new energy vehicle components, transformer core components, etc.

The "minus" is energy consumption. Replacing some long process capacity with short process capacity, the average carbon dioxide emission per ton of steel is much lower than the average level of long process steel plants, and the power consumption per ton of steel under the full scrap smelting condition of the Group is 15%~20% less than that of traditional electric furnaces; The Group also plans to build a distributed 500 MW solar power generation and photovoltaic energy storage project within three years. After completion, it will generate 560 million kWh of electricity every year, and the generated energy will be used for the green steelmaking of the full intelligent Konsti electric furnace.

It is not uncommon in Fujian to promote the "gold content" of the industry with the "green content" of development.

In June, Qingtuo Group had another good news: after repeated continuous casting tests and process optimization, the refining department of Fujian Qingtuo Industry Co., Ltd. realized the normal production of high-end special material production lines, and the furnace number continuity and product quality were "double improved".

In the development process of Qingtuo Group, similar green process innovation runs through every production link. For example, energy recovery, fuel saving and power consumption can be realized by adopting energy saving facilities such as waste heat power generation and comprehensive utilization of vertical reduction furnace gas; The belt corridor is used to transport the raw and auxiliary materials and ores, so as to solve the problem of leakage during the transportation of laterite nickel ores.

Throughout the province, in the past six months, Fujian has successively introduced carbon peaking plans for steel, nonferrous metals, building materials, and petrochemical industries, strictly implemented crude steel output regulation and cement normal off peak production, promoted the transformation and upgrading of the printing and dyeing industry, and urged steel and cement enterprises to accelerate ultra-low emission transformation.

To improve the "green content", we still need to focus on the development of new quality productivity. Multiple sets of data are proving Fujian's determination and confidence in building an innovative province: in the past six months, Fujian has established a provincial innovation center for new display manufacturing industry, added 11 provincial enterprise technology centers, and promoted the successful docking of nearly 100 projects.
