On September 19, the Forum of "Focusing on New Quality Productivity and Boosting High Quality Development of the Industry with Green and Innovative Design" sponsored by China Textile Survey and Design Association was held in Zhengzhou. The conference was guided by China Textile Federation, co organized by the Textile Design Professional Committee of China Textile Engineering Society, and undertaken by Henan Textile Architecture Design Institute Co., Ltd. Leaders and experts from China Textile Federation, local industry associations, local housing and urban and rural construction departments, textile architecture design institutes in some provinces and cities, and relevant institutions attended the meeting. In his speech, Duan Xiaoping introduced the situation and tasks facing the textile industry. He said that the textile industry accelerated the construction of a modern industrial system, providing opportunities as well as challenges for the survey and design industry. The opportunity is reflected in the promotion of high-end, intelligent and green upgrading in the textile industry, which will generate a large number of design requirements for renovation projects; Continuously promote domestic regional collaborative layout and build an international layout system, and also provide new space for survey and design services. At the same time, the textile industry has ended its scale expansion and entered a deep transformation cycle, and the traditional textile engineering design market has shrunk, which will lead to increasingly fierce competition. Higher requirements are put forward for enterprises to adapt to market changes, expand their business, diversify their operations, and innovate their models.

To this end, Duan Xiaoping put forward three suggestions for the textile survey and design industry based on the construction of a modern textile industrial system, to cultivate and develop new quality productivity, and to form a higher level of market balance and industrial sustainable development with new quality supply:

First, comprehensively promote the upgrading of digital intelligence. Accelerate the digital transformation of survey and design enterprises, and expand the application of various digital design, procurement, engineering management and other technologies. Promote the integration and application of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data in design, management and construction, constantly innovate management and service modes, and research and build an Internet platform for textile survey and design industry with resource integration efficiency. Optimize the design of a new generation of textile intelligent workshops and factories in combination with the process of textile intelligent manufacturing; In combination with the requirements of green and safety, the digital and intelligent scheme of textile factory buildings and facilities was introduced.

Second, actively integrate scientific and technological innovation in the textile industry. Third, support the textile industry to integrate into the new pattern of double circulation. First of all, we should fully support the upgrading of domestic industries from the perspective of engineering construction, stabilize and enhance China's position as the manufacturing center and innovation source in the international textile supply chain. Actively grasp the international layout trend of the textile industry, deeply summarize the resource and environmental characteristics of overseas investment destinations, and introduce engineering design and service models that are more suitable for overseas investment needs.

From January to July this year, China's textile industry showed good development resilience, the capacity utilization rate remained at a high level, the production growth rate was accelerated, the overall economic operation recovered, the supply and demand sides achieved steady growth, and the level of production, marketing and efficiency improved. Most links of the industrial chain have grown, among which the added value of chemical fiber, wool textile, filament weaving and other industries has achieved double-digit rapid growth year on year. Affected by weak demand, the terminal industry of the industrial chain has increased its operating pressure. Driven by the accelerated production of knitted clothing and apparel, the apparel industry has recovered to the level of the same period last year, and the cotton textile industry has the most prominent pressure.

In terms of foreign trade, exports were under pressure but the situation was better than expected. From January to July this year, China's textile and clothing exports totaled US $169.84 billion, up 1.1% year on year. Taking the United States as the representative of developed countries to achieve a "soft landing" in economy, it not only drives China's textile and clothing exports, but also indirectly drives the export of supporting products in the upstream and midstream industrial chains to increase.

In the domestic market, domestic demand keeps growing, and the demand presents a diversified pattern. From January to July this year, the national per capita clothing consumption expenditure increased by 8.1% year on year, better than the same period last year. In terms of investment, in the first seven months of this year, the completed investment in fixed assets in the textile industry, clothing industry and chemical fiber industry increased by 13.1%, 14.5% and 6.29% year on year respectively. Technological upgrading is the main driving force for expanding investment.

For the development expectation in 2024, Huashan said that the total export volume of textiles and clothing is estimated to be roughly the same as that in 2023; Domestic sales of textiles and clothing are expected to maintain a medium to low growth rate; The growth rate of production and sales is expected to decline from the first half of the year.
