18 Textile Workers Were Shortlisted For "2024 China Intangible Cultural Heritage Person Of The Year 100 Candidates"

On April 14, under the guidance of the Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and jointly sponsored by Guangming Daily and Guangming. com, the 2024 "People of the Year of Intangible Cultural Heritage in China" campaign was announced to the public.

Since the launch of this election campaign, there has been a warm response from all walks of life, and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Offices, Intangible Cultural Heritage protection units, experts and netizens of local cultural and tourism departments actively recommend candidates. After receiving the recommended candidates from all parties, the Organizing Committee selected 100 candidates, including inheritors, artists, managers, researchers and communicators, through compliance review and based on the personal information and expert opinions of the candidates. Among them, there are 18 candidates for intangible cultural heritage in textile industry, including Wu Jianhua, the ambassador for textile industry promotion, and Teng Jingrong, the ambassador for textile industry Miao embroidery promotion

Since 2017, the selection and publicity activities of "Person of the Year of Intangible Cultural Heritage of China" have been successfully held for seven times. This activity will comprehensively summarize the achievements and experience of the intangible cultural heritage protection work carried out creatively and according to local conditions in 2024, accurately focus on the annual important intangible cultural heritage inheritance practice, show the tireless persistence and exploration of the majority of intangible cultural heritage people, and improve the attention of the whole society to the cause of intangible cultural heritage protection.
